Q: Do your yukatas come with an obi belt?
A: No. All accessories, including the obi belt, are sold separately so you can choose your own and design your unique look.
Q: How do I choose the right size for a women's yukata?
A: Measure the largest circumference of your waist/hips/chest. If it's less than 43", you can fit in a regular size yukata. If it's more than 43" and less than 53", you can fit in our plus size yukata.
Q: Are yukatas cheaper than kimonos?
A: Generally yes. Yukatas are more affordable because they use affordable materials like cotton and simpler construction, while kimonos can be more expensive due to craftsmanship and materials.
Q: Are Modern Sakura yukatas authentic?
A: Yes. We work with the same manufacturers as the ones that make yukatas for domestic market in Japan.
Q: Do you sell both men’s and women’s yukatas?

Q: Can anyone wear a yukata?
A: Yes! Yukatas can be worn by anyone. They are traditional Japanese clothing but are now enjoyed worldwide. Yukatas require less accessories to wear properly and are very beginner friendly.
Q: What is the difference between a kimono and a yukata?
A: Technically, a yukata is a type of kimono, and it's the most casual form of kimono. Yukatas are usually light and breathable and made of one thin layer of fabric, while kimonos usually have interior fabric lining. People mostly wear yukatas in summer, while kimonos can be enjoyed all year round.

Q: How do I wash a yukata?
A: Yukatas can be hand-washed in cold water and air-dried. We recommend avoid washing yukatas often since the colors will look less vibrant the more you wash. If yukatas get really dirty, you can wash them in the washing machine with a gentle cycle and cold water.
Q: Will my yukata wrinkle easily?
A: Yukatas can wrinkle if stored improperly. Folding carefully and using a garment bag helps keep your yukata in perfect condition. To remove wrinkles gently after taking it out of the bag, hang up your yukata and let the gravity do the work.

A: Most USA orders arrive within 5–7 business days. Priority shipping is also available.
